I like to try to incorporate certain items into my closet year-round. At the end of February, we end up with some high sales on things from New Year's Eve that didn't sell out. I purchased this crop top then, and it caught my attention with the red and black poppies print. Although it feels wintery, the puff sleeves are so flirty, and since I haven't taken a night out in ages, I planned out this look to repurpose the top to daytime. I'll feel pretty and classy as I spend the day running errands, getting my nails done, or taking kiddo to a playdate.

As you can tell, I do cycle between many styles, especially in the summertime. I like to adjust things according to the weather and bounce around between dresses, jeans, shorts, and skirts. I have so many bottoms that I realized I need to go out and get a bunch of summer tanks and t-shirts because I've got basically none. I spend a considerable amount of my shopping budget on dresses and jeans, but on the other hand, buy my tops almost exclusively on sale or at a lower cost.

Would you pair this look with jewelry? Chunky black sandals? A hair accessory? I love having timeless pieces to style around in my closet. I mix well-priced tops from stores like H&M with beautiful essentials like this skirt that I can wear over and over again. You can get a hold of this style for yourself from a sweet local business or online at their shop :) Link is down below.

What I'm Wearing:

-H&M Smock Sleeve Poppy Blouse

-Fall For You Skirt by Line and Dot

-Vintage Black Bag from Goodwill

-Tan Leather Sandals from Target

The best summer trend this season is definitely the day to night dress! With a quick change of accessories, this blue and white style fits right into my closet for the busiest of days. These past couple of summers I have been seeing more and more of this beautiful pattern, inspired by china pottery. I've been hoping to come across one to wear myself. I found this one at a local boutique and fell in love! I feel dreamy and light in this gorgeous dress.

A long midi dress is fantastic in hot summertime. A basic style like this can be the focal point of your outfit. The engaging pattern makes me very creative! I plan to try a couple of things with this look. A white button up shirt can be worn, knotted at the bottom for those windy outdoor days. Grab an oversized blazer and some black kitten heels and belt this for a night look! Or take a white Michael Kors tote bag (see here) and a statement necklace to the local roses garden for a photo op! I just love how the simple fit inspires me to experiment.

Here are some similar dresses you can purchase from your favorite retailer to dress up or down in your own style. Just click on each picture to shop! Thanks for reading my thoughts and please subscribe to this blog! I'd love to bring you more content.

It can be hard to make certain styles work if you aren't comfortable with mixing colors. For this reason, I stick to only two color options when I am unsure how to wear a new item. Typically the easiest color to add to the mix is blue! This cute wrap skirt is a very breezy fabric that looks like denim but wears like linen. I'm so pleased to find such a bright and unique shade! It is simple and minimal.

This cute wrap skirt is a very soft fabric that looks like linen but feels like a straightforward suede. I decided to keep with the relaxed style it gives away. After some trouble choosing something that goes, I realized it would overwhelm the beauty of the color to style with my usual black or white. So I decided on a bone-colored short sleeve shirt from Target. Then I grabbed the slip-on sandals to match. This allows the color to stand out! I feel cool and funky in this look.

What I'm Wearing:

-Puff Sleeve Short T-Shirt by Universal Thread

-Wagner Espadrille Sandals

-Quinn Wrap Skirt byShe+Sky

-Vintage Black Baguette Bag
